Carrington Ernest Nuamah, known professionally as Roots of Azania (or simply Roots), is a South African DJ, producer, and entrepreneur. He leads Massive Afrika and Asante Records, nurturing emerging talent while producing music that blends African-rooted themes, house, soul, and modern production. Roots began his music journey in the early 2000s, took a hiatus, and returned in 2017 with Umuntu Wami featuring Kaylow, marking a new phase that included international collaborations. Based in Johannesburg, his career spans over a decade with early works and live sessions dating back to 2008–2009, establishing him as a key figure in South Africa’s contemporary music.
